U.S. tax cuts since 1997

Owen Zidar, a Princeton University economist: “It’s amazing how much we’ve cut taxes even since 1997 — on dividends, the estate tax threshold, capital gains and the top rate.”

The start of this latest trend began with the 1994 mid-term elections that gave Newt Gingrich Republicans a majority, with their stated intent of lowering taxes.

However, these tax rate decreases have mainly benefited corporations and the wealthy, and not the middle class, in my opinion. What is your opinion?
